Conducting a Supervisory Activity
A Supervisory Activity is an activity conducted by a state agency over a financial institution under its regulatory authority. It includes Examination, Investigation, and enforcement actions.
Matters Requiring Attention
Matters Requiring Attention are optional tools to enable communications between agency and company regarding the resolution of findings from the exam.
Managing Matters Requiring Attention
A matter requiring attention (MRA) might be added to an SA to ensure that a particular issue is being followed and addressed.
Classifying MRAs to an Agency in a Multi-State Exam
When conducting Multi-state Examinations the Examiner in Charge (EIC)for the Lead Agency can determine whether all company responses to Matters Requiring Attention (MRA) will be sent to the lead agency or to a specific agency participating in the examination.

      Procedures are used to guide examiners during the examination in the review of company documentation or compliance with statutes, regulations, and other requirements.

      Conducting the exam consists of reviewing Information Request (IR) responses, working procedures and adding or reviewing findings.
    - Findings
      A finding is an issue identified by a state agency user during the supervision of a financial institution in SES. The finding may describe the company’s strengths and/or weaknesses regarding its compliance management system, assess the company’s compliance with consumer protection laws or regulations, or any potential consumer harm. A finding may be either a violation, recommendation, or observation.

        Reviewing an MRA
        If you have been assigned an MRA to review, you can edit or append information to the MRA before it is sent to the company.
        Sending Back an MRA to the Company
        In the case of an insufficient MRA response, you can return the response. After the company submits a response, the company can request you to send the MRA back.
        Closing an MRA
        You should cancel an MRA if it is no longer applicable. However, if the company replies to an MRA outside of the system, you should close the MRA and upload the email response.

Note: The MRA tab becomes available once an SA is moved to In-Flight.

Procedure

Navigate to your supervisory activity.
Optional: Click Add MRA to create a new MRA.
Optional: Click the View Details icon for an existing MRA.
Select the desired level of MRA classification.

Note: Selecting All Agencies causes responses to the MRA to be sent to the EIC and staff user participants from the lead agency. Selecting Agency Specific allows you to select the agencies to shich the MRA is classified. Company responses to the MRA are sent to the EIC and all of the SA participants from the agencies that you select.
